Hello, I'm Lawry.

I write and produce music, and work as a sound designer across film, theatre, animation, installation and digital spaces.

Alongside commissioned projects, I have released music under the name Birdengine — a long-running project rooted in atmosphere, memory and emotion.

More recently, I have begun releasing instrumental work under my own name, creating immersive sound worlds built from field recordings, synthesis, found sounds and processing.

That work feeds directly into my sound design practice. Whether composing music or designing sound, I am interested in how audio can shape space, suggest narrative and evoke emotional responses. Much of my work sits between music and sound design, blurring the distinction where useful — from subtle environmental textures to more foregrounded sonic environments.

My approach is detail-oriented and story-led, often exploring the intersection of atmosphere, place, memory and psychology. I am particularly interested in creating sound that feels lived-in, tactile and emotionally resonant.
